In 1964, he released "Zé Graça Forever," which became a hit across Brazil. The song's success brought him national recognition and led to tours throughout the country.

He recorded several albums including Brasil, Meu Brasil in 1970, Saudade in 1980, and O Último Cantor in 2000. While primarily a solo artist, he worked with musicians like guitarist José Neto and bassist João Batista.
