Zé Ibarra is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from Rio de Janeiro. His self-titled debut album came out in 1985, and its track 'Essa Confusão' became a hit that brought him wider attention. The song appears on his top tracks list alongside 'Vai Atrás da Vida Que Ela Te Espera' and 'Infinito Em Nós'.
He's worked with other Brazilian musicians like Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, and Gal Costa. His band has included lyricist Ronaldo Bastos, singer-guitarist Alceu Valença, saxophonist Paulo Moura, and cavaquinist Hamilton de Holanda.
In the late 1980s, Ibarra faced plagiarism accusations that complicated his career.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
