Zé Leandro

Zé Leandro was a Brazilian duo formed in the late 1970s by José Francisco dos Santos and Leandro Gonçalves dos Santos. They started playing local festivals and bars before their 1983 debut album, which included the ballad "Dois Corações E Uma Historia." That song became a national hit and defined their sound.

Their music leaned into romantic themes, with songs like "Lua Do Amor" and "Amor De Novela" following a similar path. They worked with artists like Sergio Reis and Chitãozinho & Xororó during the mid-1980s, releasing albums such as "Sucessos" in 1984 and "Românticos" in 1985.

In the 1990s, Leandro's health problems led him to step back from performing. Zé continued as a solo act, but the duo never fully returned to their earlier partnership. Their recordings, particularly "Dois Corações E Uma Historia," have remained familiar on Brazilian radio and in collections of romantic music from that period.
