Zé Liberto formed in Brazil during the late 1970s, a period marked by political tension under military rule. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1979 and included the track 'Apenas 10 minutos,' which became widely known. The band's lineup featured Zé Roberto on vocals and guitar, Lúcia Turnbull on vocals and percussion, Paulo Roberto on bass, Flávio Venturini on piano and vocals, and Jorge Mello on drums.
They released several albums in the early 1980s, including 'Novas Aventuras' in 1981 and 'Sinal Verde' in 1983. Their catalog includes songs like 'Aproveite o dia,' 'Coração ao Vento,' and 'Pára-quedas.' In the mid-1980s, Zé Roberto left the group, but the band continued and put out a final studio album called 'Prometeu' in 1991.
