Zé Luccas

Zé Luccas is a singer from Rio de Janeiro who got his start in the mid-2010s. He formed a band with guitarist Kleber, bassist Pedro, and drummer Wesley, and they put out their first album in 2018. The next year, their song 'Anjinha Malvadona' became a breakout hit, mixing funk and hip-hop with a melodic touch that caught on widely.

That track, along with others like 'Não Deixa Ele Saber' and 'Amor Descartável', helped build a following. The lyrics in 'Anjinha Malvadona' drew some criticism for how they portrayed women, though others saw it as a statement on female strength. Zé Luccas kept writing about social issues like poverty and inequality, which resonated with many of his listeners.

He and the band released the album 'Luz' in 2021. Their sound stays rooted in that blend of funk and rap, with songs like 'Correndo Risco' and 'Moda Preferida' keeping up the energy. They haven't shied away from the conversations their music starts.
