Zé Marconi

Zé Marconi came from Itaporã, a small town in Mato Grosso do Sul, and started playing music early, influenced by sertanejo rhythms. He moved to Brasília in the early 1990s and began working with producer Miltinho Rodrigues. Their collaboration led to his self-titled debut album in 1995.

That album included "Solteiro x Casado," which became his breakout hit. The song's straightforward take on relationship choices connected with listeners and helped establish his presence in Brazilian music. Other tracks like "Teu gingado" and "A Tristeza Do Violeiro" showed his range within sertanejo styles.

He kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like "Sertão Sem Fim" and "Amor e Fé." In 2003, there was a plagiarism claim over the song "Foi Deus," but it was dismissed. Marconi's band typically included Rodrigues on guitar, João Paulo on bass, and Paulo Ricardo on drums.

Later releases like "Zé Marconi 20 Anos" in 2015 marked his continued activity. His music often dealt with love and everyday situations, delivered in a direct, unadorned style that resonated with many Brazilian listeners.
