Ze Pequeno formed in 2009 in the Paris suburbs as a trio with Jean-Michel Pirès on vocals and guitar, Clément Leduc on bass, and Anthony Le Gall on drums. Their 2017 album 'Le Centre du Monde' gave them their most recognizable song, which drew attention for its direct lyrics about social hypocrisy.
They released five studio albums between 2011 and 2023, with Pirès remaining as the only constant founding member. Their music incorporated African rhythms, hip-hop, and pop, and they worked with artists like Oxmo Puccino, Soprano, and Faada Freddy.
While their song 'Ze Phenomene' and others gained traction, the group maintained a low public profile, rarely giving interviews. Their work continued through 2023's 'Le Dernier Voyage' without much fanfare about their status or future plans.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
