Ze Rodrigues is a Brazilian band that formed in Salvador. Their debut album 'O Encanto da Luz' came out in 1997, and they followed it with 'A Luz do Abajur' in 1999. That song became their most recognizable track, with its melody and lyrics about light finding listeners across Brazil.
They've released several albums since, including 'Azul' in 2002 and 'Luz e Sombra' in 2009. Another song people know is 'Mentira Ou Verdade.' The band has three members: Ze Rodrigues on vocals and guitar, João Paulo on drums, and Marcelo Costa on bass.
In 2005, there were some questions about whether part of their song 'O Amor da Minha Vida' borrowed too much from another artist's work. The band kept making music after that, but that episode stayed in the background.
