Zé e Zilda were a Brazilian duo from São Paulo who started performing together in the late 1960s. José "Zé" Simão played guitar and wrote songs, while Zilda Maria handled vocals. Their music drew from samba, baião, and sertanejo rhythms.
One of their best-known songs is "Bom Filho Não Esquece," a ballad that became popular across Brazil. They also recorded "Fim do Eixo." Their albums included self-titled releases in 1971 and 1975, along with 1972's "Samba Pra Gente."
Zé Simão died in 2014. Zilda Maria has continued performing since then.
