Zebra Katz came out of Brooklyn's underground dance scene in the early 2010s. The project centers on Ojay Morgan, a visual artist and producer, and Imani Coppola, who handles vocals and lyrics. Their sound is built from Morgan's experimental production and Coppola's direct, confrontational writing.
That track, along with others, has drawn accusations of misogyny and perpetuating stereotypes, which the group has denied. The music often explores sexuality and social commentary through a raw, unapologetic lens.
Their debut album "Less is Moor" arrived in 2014, followed by releases like "Drklng," "Zebra Katz 3," and "Less is Moor II." They've played festivals like Coachella and SXSW, and have worked with artists including Diplo and Azealia Banks.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
