Zeca Barbosa is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from Juazeiro do Norte in Ceará. He moved to Fortaleza in the early 1990s and formed a band under his own name. Their debut album 'Cantar das Aves' came out in 1996, with the title track getting some attention.
His song 'Catira Dos Teus Olhos' is probably his best-known work. Another track, 'Rouca Voz do Coração', appears on his 2006 album 'Voz Do Coração'. He's also released albums like 'Um Novo Tempo' in 2003 and 'Na Estrada' in 2010.
In 2001, Barbosa faced criticism for comments he made on television that were seen as insensitive toward the LGBTQ+ community. He later apologized publicly for those remarks.
