Zecarlos Lassi was born Carlos Roberto Lassi in Limeira, São Paulo in 1956. He started playing guitar and singing early, drawing from sertanejo and bossa nova traditions.
In 1984, he formed a band with guitarist Luís Carlos Ferreira and percussionist João Bosco. Their 1988 album 'Vida de Cantor' became their breakthrough, with the title track connecting with listeners across Brazil.
After a hiatus in the late 1990s, Lassi returned to recording in the early 2000s with albums like 'Ciranda da Vida' in 2003. He continued releasing music through the 2010s, including 'Amor, Vida e Canção' in 2017.
