Zecca MC is an Italian rap collective that formed in Milan in 2016. The group consists of Lorenzo, who goes by L'Illusionista, Francesco (Kento), and Alessandro (Piotta). Their name comes from Italian slang for money combined with the hip-hop title MC.
They released their first EP, "Disperso," in 2018, which includes the track of the same name. The song deals with themes of disappearance and mental health, and it drew some attention for its direct approach to those subjects. They followed that with the album "Prospettiva" in 2019 and the EP "Focu" in 2021.
Their music tends toward what's sometimes called introspective rap, with lyrics that look inward at personal experience and uncertainty. They've built a following among listeners who connect with that straightforward, sometimes raw approach to writing.
