Zednray is a French band fronted by Yvonnick Bolloré, whose name comes from the phrase "je ne respire plus" (I can't breathe). They started in Lorient, France, with Bolloré as a self-taught guitarist and singer. The band includes guitarist Guillaume Bordier, bassist Ludovic Le Pivert, and drummer Yoann Le Bleiz.
Their debut album "L'Éveil" came out in 2016, mixing acoustic folk and electro-pop. The single "Je ne respire plus" became popular in France. Their second album "Sombre" followed in 2018, with songs like "Nos âmes à l'envers" and "Les mots se taisent" exploring themes of love and loss.
Zednray has worked with other artists, including French rapper Lucio Bukowski on the track "Souviens-toi." Their music has drawn both criticism for being sentimental and support from fans who appreciate its emotional directness. They've been nominated for Victoires de la Musique awards.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
