Zédu formed in the early 2000s when singer-songwriter Zédu from Bahia met producer and multi-instrumentalist Binho Barreto. They later added bassist Ivan Almeida and drummer Alexandre Almeida. Their debut album 'Quanta Gente Vem e Vai' came out in 2007, with the title track becoming a hit for its lyrics about life's comings and goings.
Their music mixes reggae, rock, and samba, with songs like 'O Passarinho Que Cantou' and 'Alma Guarani' showing their range. They followed that first album with others including 'Paralelo 13' in 2009 and 'Simplesmente' in 2011.
In 2010 they had a legal dispute over a sample in one of their songs. They kept recording through that period, putting out 'Ali' in 2013 and 'O Mundo É Nosso' in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
