Zeebee formed in New York City in the early 2000s around vocalist Zeebee Haimowitz and guitarist Orion Sword. Their debut album 'The Unseen Tapes' came out in 2005, followed by records like 'Beneath the Sycamore Tree' in 2007 and 'The Devil's Laughter' in 2010. The band's lineup has included bassist Balthazar Synn and drummer Gideon Stone.
Their song 'Attempted Suicide' drew attention for its direct lyrics about mental health struggles. Other tracks like 'Cards + Signs' and 'Chemistry' appear in their catalog.
Zeebee kept releasing albums through the 2010s, including 'Of Shadows and Light' in 2013 and 'Ashes to Dust' in 2016. Their sound pulled from grunge and shoegaze influences, with a lo-fi quality that suited the raw subject matter. They developed a following among listeners who responded to that unpolished approach.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
