Zeef formed in São Paulo around 2014 with rapper Derek, singer Dogdu, and producer Yung Buda Leen. Their track 'Flacko' came out in 2016 and featured all three members, which helped bring them some attention.
They put out a few releases over the next several years, including the EP 'Sangue Bom' in 2017, the album 'Bêbado' in 2019, and another album called 'Lágrima' in 2021. Another song, 'Selene', is among their more recognized tracks.
Their music pulls from hip-hop and trap, with electronic production from Yung Buda Leen. Derek's lyrics often draw from personal experience, while Dogdu handles the melodic vocals. They've faced some criticism for explicit content, but kept making music on their own terms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
