Zeh formed in Brazil in the late 1990s, with their song 'Estimação' becoming an early hit. The band's lineup included Marcelo Camelo on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Amarante on bass, Alexandre Kassin on keyboards, João Barone on drums, and Sérgio Britto on guitar. They released their first album in 1999, sometimes called 'Escova de Dentes'.
Their music blended samba with pop elements, and they put out several albums over the next two decades including 'Nação Z' in 2003, '10,000 Days' in 2008, 'Recanto' in 2012, and 'A Ópera do Cafajeste' in 2017. Other songs like 'Acalento' and 'Ilustre Princesa' showed their range within Brazilian popular music.
In 2003, bassist Rodrigo Amarante left the band due to creative differences. Zeh continued recording and performing with the remaining members, maintaining their presence in Brazilian music circles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
