Zeky formed in São Paulo around the late 1990s, with singer and guitarist Zé Guilherme joining bassist André Gonçalves and drummer Lucas de Almeida. Their debut album 'Prefiro Morrer Assim' came out in 2009, and its title track became a hit in Brazil. The band's lineup has stayed mostly the same since then.
They've put out six studio albums, including 'Corações Partidos' in 2011 and 'Ponto de Vista' in 2023. Songs like 'Me Deixe Só' and 'Sofrimento Futuro' show their focus on emotional, guitar-driven rock. In 2012, they had to cancel a show in Belo Horizonte after threats.
Zeky's music deals with love and loss in straightforward terms, which has connected with listeners there. They're still making records and playing shows around Brazil.
