Zelite formed in 2009 with Bruno Pierri on vocals and guitar, Ricardo Tokuoka on bass, and Bruno Maia on drums. They released their first album, "Vozes," in 2010, followed by "Tempo Forte" in 2012, which included the song "Libertário da Rotina." Later albums like "No Vão do Mundo" (2014), "Latitude" (2016), and "Tudo De Novo" (2019) came out roughly every couple of years.
Their track "Libertário da Rotina" got some attention in 2015 when it was used in a political campaign without the band's permission. Zelite said they didn't approve of that use, and it led to some discussion about artists and politics.
They've put out five studio albums total. The music pulls from rock and reggae, along with Brazilian rhythms, and sometimes incorporates other sounds like Latin or African beats. Their shows tend to be energetic.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
