Zelito Passos came up in Rio de Janeiro during the 1970s. His music pulled from samba, funk, and soul. In 1980, he released the song 'Balé,' which became his most recognized work. He wasn't strictly a solo act; bassist Nilo Dias and drummer Wilson das Neves were long-time collaborators who helped shape the sound.
Passos put out several albums, including 'Zelito Passos' in 1975, 'Balé' in 1980, 'Samba de Esquina' in 1982, and 'Trem de Ferro' in 1985.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
