Zen Guerrilla formed in Milan in 1986, led by Enrico Isach. Their album 'Moonage Daydream' became a cult favorite in industrial circles, mixing abrasive electronics with more melodic touches.
Their sound was built around Isach's vocals, Robert A. Pareschi's keyboards, and Andrea Rapelli's electronics. They worked with other artists like Boyd Rice and Current 93, which kept their approach from getting too insular.
They faced some pushback from critics who found their music too harsh, and had a legal issue over samples in 1990. But they kept releasing albums through the early '90s, including 'Enigma' and 'Ballast'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
