Zenildo Ferreira was a Brazilian samba musician from the Jacarezinho neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. His song 'Subir o Morro,' released in 1973, became widely known for its depiction of life in the favelas. He also recorded 'Homenagem a Zeca Pagodinho' among other tracks.
Ferreira's lyrics often addressed social issues like poverty and inequality, which sometimes drew criticism. He released several albums including 'Resistência' in 1977 and 'Trabalho Duro' in 1979. He died in 2007.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
