Zenith formed in Salvador, Bahia in the late 1990s. They started playing local bars and festivals while dealing with financial struggles. The band included Mônica Carvalho on vocals, Eduardo Pedrosa on guitar, Paulo Martins on bass, and Ricardo Rabelo on drums.
The track became one of their most recognized songs, with Carvalho's vocals carrying its melancholic melody.
Zenith's music moved between traditional Brazilian rhythms, soulful ballads, and rock elements. They developed a following in Brazil, though their outspoken lyrics sometimes drew criticism alongside their growing audience.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
