Zentido Kontrario formed in Medellín, Colombia in the late 1990s. The band's core members were vocalist and guitarist Mauricio 'Moris' Calderón, bassist and vocalist Andrés 'Bola' Correa, drummer Armando 'Mandy' Álvarez, and guitarist and vocalist Juan Pablo 'JP' Obregón.
Their song 'Nada Más' became a notable track in Spanish rock. The band released several albums including their self-titled debut in 1999, followed by 'Tiempo' in 2002, 'Juego de Ilusiones' in 2005, and 'La Última Canción' in 2008.
Some of their other songs like 'Soy del Barrio' and 'El Descontrol' addressed social themes. The band collaborated with artists including Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca and Mexican rocker Aleks Syntek.
