Zenzkar

Zenzkar formed in Buenos Aires in the late 1990s, with Fernando Ruiz Diaz on vocals, Pablo Vignolo on guitar, Javier Casalla on bass, and Claudio Ortiz on drums. Their debut album 'Cartas' came out in 2001, and its title track 'Carta' became a national hit in Argentina. The band's sound mixed alternative rock with progressive metal and some Andean influences.

They released four more albums over the next decade and a half: 'Canciones de Sangre' in 2004, 'Luz' in 2007, 'El Alma en Llamas' in 2010, and 'Un Nuevo Sol' in 2015. Another song, 'Mil Dias,' also found an audience. Their lineup stayed mostly consistent, with Ruiz Diaz remaining the central figure throughout.

In 2003, Zenzkar faced some censorship over their song 'La Luna' due to its lyrical content. They worked with other Argentine musicians like Gustavo Cerati and Daniel Melero at various points. The band's music combined rock intensity with folk touches and progressive structures, avoiding straightforward categorization.
