Zero 3 formed in São Paulo in 2002 with Mauricio Takeda on vocals and guitar, Fabio Garcia on bass, and Lucas Soares on drums. Their debut album 'Algumas Fotos Rasgadas... Páginas De Um álbum Nunca Visto' came out in 2004, and the title track became something of an anthem for listeners drawn to its themes of heartbreak and identity. They followed it with two more albums, 'Descontrole' in 2006 and 'A Última Dança' in 2008.
Their sound pulled from alternative rock and grunge, with distorted guitars and driving rhythms behind Takeda's introspective lyrics. Songs like 'Eu Vou Buscar' and 'O Último Poema' carried that same raw, personal quality. Their live shows were known for being intense, sometimes chaotic, which drew both fans and critics.
Zero 3 disbanded in 2010, with the members moving on to other projects.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
