Zero Boys formed in Washington, D.C. in 1979. Their track 'Amphetamine Addiction' became a cult classic, capturing some of the raw energy of that early punk era. They released albums like 'Vicious Circle' in 1980 and 'History of the Zero Boys' in 1981.
The band's original lineup included Paul Mahern on vocals, Roky Erickson on guitar, Steve Lantsman on bass, and Dave Sardy on drums. Their music dealt with themes that sometimes sparked debate, but they kept playing through various challenges. Other songs like 'Dirty Alleys/Dirty Minds' and 'Civilization's Dying' showed their consistent approach.
Zero Boys disbanded in 1983 but reunited for some shows in 2004. They've continued to perform occasionally since then, with their early recordings still finding listeners in punk circles.
