Zero Kill formed in the early 2000s with Chris Cabera on vocals and guitar, Chris Harris on bass, and Jesse Kimpel on drums. They released their debut album 'Severed Ties' in 2003, but it was their 2005 follow-up 'The Awakening' that brought them wider attention. The single 'Sebastian' from that album became their most recognizable track.
Their music leaned toward atmospheric rock with somber themes, which drew some criticism for being too dark. They kept putting out albums through 2016, including 'Beyond the Veil' and 'Shadow Work,' sticking with their established sound rather than chasing trends.
While they never became mainstream stars, they developed a dedicated following among listeners drawn to moody, introspective alternative rock. The band's lineup stayed consistent throughout their recorded output.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
