Zero Meia formed in São Paulo around 2005, with three childhood friends at the core: MC Magrão, DJ Banga, and DJ Max. Their debut album 'O Uivo do Lobo Solitário' came out in 2007, featuring the track of the same name with DJ Banga. They followed it with albums like 'Lobotomia' in 2009 and 'Alma de Lobo' in 2013.
MC Magrão handled the lyrics and fronted the group, while DJ Banga produced the beats. DJ Max took care of technical operations. Some listeners felt their approach strayed from hip-hop orthodoxy, but they kept blending Brazilian rhythms with the genre's framework.
Their music found an audience in Brazil's urban centers. The group's name and album titles often referenced wolves, giving them a loose thematic thread through their work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
