Zero Pacceli formed in Brazil in 1988 with vocalist Rodrigo Lima, guitarist Lucas Rodrigues, bassist Fernando Mesquita, and drummer Leo Bessa. Their first album came out in 1993, mixing post-punk and new wave with Brazilian sounds. By 1996, Bessa had left and was replaced by André Carvalho, and soon after Rodrigues and Mesquita departed too, leaving Lima as the only original member.
Lima kept the band going with new musicians. They put out eight studio albums, including 'O Salto' in 1995 and 'Uma Noite no Teatro' in 2000. Their song '(Não) Vou Te Esperar,' a ballad about unrequited love, became widely known in Brazil. The band's music sometimes dealt with social and political themes, which drew some criticism alongside its popularity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
