Zero Tolerance came together in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire around 1981, part of that early-80s wave of British heavy metal. The original lineup included vocalist David 'Rocky' Davies, guitarists Paul 'Polo' Atkinson and Paul 'Huff' Huffner, bassist Mark 'Spaz' Spratt, and drummer Ian 'Batty' Batley. They built a following through live shows and demo tapes before some early lineup changes brought in guitarist John 'Kal' Kelly and drummer Andy 'Lefty' Wright.
Their debut album 'E=MC²' came out in 1984, and it included the song 'Alone,' which became a signature track for them. They put out a few more albums through the late 80s and early 90s, like 'Force Majeure' and 'Speed Metal Symphony,' and did some touring. The band went on hiatus in 1993, with Davies doing solo work and Kelly and Wright later playing with Blaze Bayley.
Zero Tolerance got back together in 2004 with Davies, Kelly, and Wright, and released another album called 'Time Machine.' Their song 'Alone' is still the one most people remember.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
