Zero3uM formed in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro in 2002 with Danilo Xavier on vocals and guitar, Fernando "Kadão" Campello on bass, and Pedro "Portuga" Silva on drums. They took their name from the area code of their hometown. Their first big break came with the single "Fim de Semana," which became a national hit in Brazil.

Their debut album "Zero3uM" arrived in 2007, followed by records like "Segredo" in 2009 and "Gravidade Zero" in 2011. Their sound mixed pop and rock with some reggae and funk influences. Another track people remember is "Não sabe o quanto - JLoc ft. Koust n AJ."

In 2010, the band faced plagiarism allegations over their song "Faz Parte," though they kept recording and performing afterward. They released "Dias de Sol" in 2015. Their music became familiar background noise at Brazilian parties and gatherings for a while.
