Zerofour was a quartet from Los Angeles with Jonathon Visger on vocals, Ian MacDougall on guitar, Sean Noonan on bass, and Chris Link on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 2003, following the single "Mind Control" from the previous year. Their 2006 album was called "The Fear of Flying," and they put out two more records, "The Secret Life of Zero" in 2009 and "The Last Stand" in 2012.
Their lyrics often dealt with mental health, substance abuse, and social inequality, which sometimes drew criticism. The band faced early skepticism from labels who found their sound hard to categorize, but they kept working without compromising much.
Zerofour's music had a following that appreciated their direct approach to difficult subjects. Songs like "Mind Control" connected with listeners looking for something more substantial than typical rock anthems.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
