ZetaPop formed in the early 2000s with Elena Ivanova on vocals, Alex Petrov on guitar, Boris Smirnov on bass, and Dmitri Ivanov on drums. Their breakout single "Arriesgate" came out in 2005 on their debut album Zetaworld. The song had a haunting quality that caught on with listeners, though some critics pointed out similarities to an obscure indie track, which the band denied.
They followed up with Etherea in 2007 and Rise in 2010, moving toward a more accessible sound. In 2017, Elena Ivanova was arrested for drug possession, which led to internal conflict and the band going on indefinite hiatus. After that, Ivanova started a solo career while the other members pursued different projects.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
