Zetörhead formed in 1994, originally called Zetör. They changed their name to Zetörhead in 1997, a reference to a Hungarian tractor brand. The band is led by frontman Gyula Pap, with bassist Zoltán Zöld and drummer Miklós Miklós as longstanding members.
Their debut album 'Örökmozgó' came out in 2000. The track 'A Gépkezelő' from that album became something of an anthem. Pap's lyrics often carried political and social commentary, which drew attention. Their live shows developed a reputation for being raucous and confrontational.
Later albums like 'Bakker' (2003), 'Foglalt' (2008), and 'Támadás' (2014) showed the band working within heavy metal while trying different approaches. Songs such as 'Az Örök Dala' and 'Gépinduló' are part of their catalog. They've maintained a following among Hungarian metal fans.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
