Zetsubou Plus formed in Tokyo in 2010, started by vocalist Kyoko and guitarist Ryo. They released their first album, 'Akai Uso,' in 2012. The band's 2014 single 'Verge' became their breakthrough track, a ballad that drew wider attention to their sound. Other albums followed, including 'Utsukushiki Yami' in 2016 and 'Requiem for a Dream' in 2018.
Their music often dealt with themes of mental health and despair, which sparked some debate among listeners and critics. The lineup included bassist Ken and drummer Taiki alongside Kyoko and Ryo. They kept releasing music into the 2020s with 'Memento Mori' in 2020.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
