Zezé Nascimento came out of Salvador, Bahia in the 1970s. His 1978 single 'Filho da Luz' became his signature song, a piece that still gets played today.
He made several albums, including 'Mãe Negra' in 1979, 'O Último Cigano' in 1982, and 'Renascimento' in 2000. His music pulled from samba, reggae, and afrobeat, and he worked with other Brazilian musicians like Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, and Caetano Veloso.
Nascimento's lyrics often dealt with spirituality and mysticism.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
