Zezo Avena formed in São Paulo in 1997, started by brothers Sergio and Claudio Assagra. They played local festivals and built a following with a sound that mixed medieval and contemporary elements. In 2000, their debut album 'Cinderela Medieval' came out, featuring Simone Mazzer on vocals. The title track became a hit in Brazil and across Latin America.
Their music includes songs like 'Arte Abstrata' and 'Do mesmo lugar'. The band released albums like 'Monte Castelo' in 2002 and 'Era Uma Vez' in 2004. They worked with artists including Carlos Baute and Ivete Sangalo.
Other members have included Ricardo Tiburtino on guitar, Marcelo Vitor on drums, and Fernando Sapienza on keyboards. Their catalog also contains tracks such as 'Como vai????' and 'É hora de ir embora'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
