Zhou Chuan Xiong was born in Taipei in 1970 and started playing piano as a child. He joined the boy band Little Tigers in 1990, which gave him his first taste of popularity across Asia. After the group disbanded in 1995, he went solo and found his footing with the 1998 album 'My Heart Is Too Soft.'
His songs tend to be ballads with melancholic melodies, like 'You Mei You Yi Shou Ge Hui Rang Ni Xiang Qi Wo.' In 2001, he had surgery for a vocal cord polyp and had to adjust his singing style. A few years later, he faced a contract dispute with his former label that temporarily stalled his work.
He won the Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Male Singer in 2005. Most of his career has been as a solo artist, though he's worked with various musicians and producers along the way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
