Zhou Shen was born in 1992 in Guizhou, China. He had a speech impediment as a child but kept practicing, and his voice eventually became his instrument. In 2014, he sang Teresa Teng's 'Thousand Miles Away' on 'The Voice of China,' and that performance got him noticed.
He works as a solo artist, and his songs often have a delicate, floating quality. You can hear it in tracks like 'Love Like Colored Glass' and 'Rubia.' His voice tends toward the high and clear, which gives even pop ballads an airy feel.
In 2017, there was some criticism after he performed a cover of a Japanese song on television. He said music should cross borders. Since then, he's kept recording, putting out songs like 'Dà Yú' and 'Penannular Love.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
