Zigidy formed in London in the early 2000s as a four-piece indie rock band. Their name came from the energy of their live shows, and they built a following while juggling day jobs with regular gigs around the city.
In 2005, their single "I'm In A Hurry" broke through, with its driving beat and catchy melody connecting with listeners. That song anchored their debut album "The Art of the Rush," which mixed indie rock with pop and electronic touches. They followed it with albums like "The Speed of Light" and "Tranquility in Motion."
The original lineup included Max Meadows on vocals and guitar, Ollie Davies on bass, James Bishop on drums, and Emily Hayes on keyboards and backing vocals. They sometimes worked with guests like cellist Kate Stables and pianist Nils Frahm. Other songs like "Letters" and "My Introduction" became part of their setlists.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
