Zigzo formed in 1999 with Kaveh Yaghmaei on vocals and guitar, Siavash Amini on bass, Saman Vahidi on guitar, and Peyman Mohammadzadeh on drums. They worked in Iran's restrictive cultural climate, where their lyrics sometimes ran into trouble with authorities. The song "Ashian Rokku" became particularly well-known among listeners.
They released four albums between 2000 and 2006: "Hamsafar," "Ashian Rokku," "Bazgasht," and "Hamdami." Their catalog includes tracks like "Bravo," "Himawari," and "Sleep." The band announced a hiatus in 2014.
After Zigzo, Yaghmaei pursued solo work. Vahidi formed his own band, Saman Vahidi and the Persian Indigo, while Mohammadzadeh joined the group Kiosk. Amini has worked on other musical projects and film soundtracks.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
