Zil Mattos is a Brazilian singer who works in Christian music. His 2001 debut single 'Minha Vida É D'Ele' became popular in that scene, and he's kept releasing albums since then, like 'O Poder da Sua Palavra' in 2003 and 'Tudo Novo' in 2017.
He's from São Paulo and started singing in church choirs. His music draws from Brazilian sertanejo and gospel sounds. Another well-known song of his is 'O Meu Negocio É com Jeová'.
Zil performs with a band that includes his brothers Marcos on bass and André on drums, along with Eduardo Lemos on guitar and Eduardo Ferreira on keyboards. In 2009, some lyrics of his drew criticism, but he said his aim was simply to share his religious message through music.
