Zill formed in Berlin around 2012, with Dennis Scheuermann on vocals and guitar, Max Rieger on drums, Matthias Stich on bass, and Fabian Hansen on keyboards. They put out their first album, "Coma," in 2014. The song "Madeleine" came out that same year and became their most recognized track.
Their sound pulls from post-rock and ambient music, with Scheuermann's vocals and Hansen's keyboards creating a layered, atmospheric feel. They've worked with other musicians like violinist Lina Kuduzovic and cellist Iris van der Plas. Later albums include "Celestial" from 2016 and "Future Echoes" from 2020.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
