Zimple formed in Monterrey in the early 1990s with brothers Beto and Héctor Zapata, Carlos Sandoval, and Juan Carlos Martínez. Their 1994 debut album 'En Vivo' included 'Águila de Los 90's,' which became a hit and helped establish them in Mexican music. They followed with albums like 'Buscando Mi Camino' in 1996 and 'Dejando Huella' in 1998.
In 1999, drummer Juan Carlos Martínez died in an accident. The band continued, later adding Memo Ibarra on guitar and vocals. Their later work includes 'Más Allá del Sol' from 2002 and 'Zimple 15 Años' in 2007. More recent songs like 'Se Juntaron Las Mafias' and 'Crónicas De Mi Vecindario' feature collaborations with artists such as Santa Fe Klan.
Zimple's lineup now includes Beto Zapata on lead vocals and guitar, Héctor Zapata on bass and vocals, Carlos Sandoval on drums, and Memo Ibarra on guitar and vocals. They released 'Mañana' in 2012 and continue to record, with tracks like 'No Pierdo La Calma' and 'Mi Realidad' appearing in their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
