Zinho Melodia formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1977 around vocalist Zinho. The band worked with a mix of samba, reggae, and axé rhythms that caught on locally.
Their song "Fábio Koff, o Imortal" came out in 1989 as a tribute to the Bahian poet Fábio Koff. It became one of their best-known tracks.
They released albums like "Zinho Melodia" in 1980, "Samba de Axé" in 1983, and "Bahia, Terra do Axé" in 1996. The lineup included Zinho on vocals, Beto Jamaica on guitar, Marivaldo Santos on drums, and Ricardinho Castro on bass.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
