Zinkiyos formed in Mexico City in 1978, with Alex Lora and Alex Ojeda at the core. They were joined by drummer Alfonso Pichardo and bassist Felix Papas. The band's debut album, simply titled "Zinkiyos," found an audience with its mix of hard rock and blues.
Their song "Se Que Tendrás Que Llorar" became a particularly resonant track for listeners. The band faced some early resistance from authorities who found their performances provocative, but they maintained a steady following.
Zinkiyos released other albums like "Algo de Ti" and "Triste Canción de Amor." They kept touring, playing live shows that were known for their intensity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
