Zirrosis

Zirrosis formed in 1990 in Chile with Jorge "Pelao" Soto on vocals, Juan "Juanin" Ricardo on guitar, Rodrigo "Rod" Correa on bass, and Juan "Juanito" López on drums. They started with a raw, heavy rock sound that gradually incorporated folk, jazz, and electronic elements over time. Their first album came out in 1994, simply titled "Zirrosis."

Their lyrics often dealt with political and social themes, which sometimes got them into trouble. Other tracks like "El país de la libertad" and "En el primer mundo" continued in this vein, examining freedom and first-world issues through a critical lens.

They've released seven studio albums total, including "Música para Muertos" in 2010 and "El Despertar" in 2020. The same four members have stayed together through the years, which is unusual for a band that's been around this long. They've worked with other Chilean musicians like Víctor Jara and Silvio Rodríguez on various projects.

Their music doesn't fit neatly into one category, songs range from the heavy rock of "El lujo de la muerte" to more folk-influenced pieces like "El camino de Santepago." They've built a following by sticking to their own path rather than chasing trends.
