ZKR formed in 2005 in Lisbon with four members: Pedro Gonçalves on vocals and guitar, Nuno Gonçalves on drums, Tiago Silva on bass, and Miguel Gameiro on guitar. Their name comes from the initials of each member's name. They released their first album in 2007, simply called 'ZKR.'
In 2010, they put out the single 'Dizer Adeus,' which became their most recognizable song. The track appears on their second album, 'Pouco Mais,' released that same year. They've since recorded several more albums, including 'Um Passo Atrás' in 2013 and 'Contra a Maré' in 2017.
Their music tends toward melodic pop and rock with Portuguese folk touches, and the lyrics often deal with romantic themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
